by gallstones, Apr 12, 2002 12:00AM
I would like you to tell me pros and cons on liver flush versus gallbladder surgery.

You should reply to this message if:

- you have done liver flush

- your gallbladder is out

- you have had ERCP

- you tried some other procedure

- you know someone who tried liver flush

- you are considering doing liver flush

- you are considering taking your gallbladder out

- you are considering undertaking ERCP

- you feel to talk about your fear and your experienece

Please take a few min, and just in short write your experience.

I want to know if

- you consider your experience positive or negative.

- you would suggest it to others

- you know what is the risk

- you experiences any benefits.

- enything you think should be important

I have multiple gallstones, occasionally attacks, I am female, 33.

I am considering both approches (flush or surgery)

I have read several messages in this forum about both procedures.

Also, those who have had surgery, I would like to know how much did you pay (or insurance) - cost of your surgery.

Also, what kind of insurance was that, if ...

Thank you!

Hello --

Just read all my posts below about what i think about the liver flush. I feel no need to have to repeat them again.

No matter what time and energy i write into all this, im not going to get anywhere with it.

As you'll also see in REPLIES to my other posts,

i get proven as "wrong" not matter what i say.

And no, im not putting down ALL and every alternative method.

I believe they will have some place in medicine soon..

Im just telling you to watch out on this one.

It won't harm you, but it won't do what is intended.

Thats all.

PS: Patriot, how much happy herb did you consume in writing that response below?  Maybe you should have had your son proofread your article after as well.

Your sar-K-astic humor was a barrel of laughs.

Hi,

I have done the liver cleanse six times and like littlejen my position is known.  I don't know how to cut and paste so I won't post what I have already written. All I need to do is agree with patriot who has given you the pro's and con's.

I would like to say to little jen that I certainly don't consider you a "Satanist".  I know you were just kidding :)

You are writing an opinion from your experience.  I am writing an opinion from mine.  That's all.

Hehe... i know you don't consider me a Satanist.

It was a remark from Patriot's previous post below.

I was just joking around with it. =o)

And im not trying to put you guys down either.

It was just my opinion on the whole ordeal, but if its working for you, by all, means, continue!

Here's a story of an editors experience with the "liver flush" :

On the above webpage as well, it notes that the green balls that are released are infact NOT gallstones.

I have a question and hopefully there is someone out there that can either answer it...or at least just relate to it.  I had my gallbladder out in 96 and now i have developed sphincter of oddi dysfunction.  i went to seattle last october for sphincterotomy and now i find out that it has re-stenosed.  i now am getting ready to go back out there to have a second ERCP and extend the spincterotomy.  does anyone know of any alternative non surgical options out there for this situation?  i'm not sure i want to go through another ERCP as this will be my fourth one.  i did not get pancreatitis with the last ones but one never knows.  my dysfunction is more hepato than pancreatic.  any comments will be greatly appreciated.  also..has anyone gone through a second sphincterotmy procedure and how did it go?  thanks   lorio

I was sick for quite awhile before they figured out it was my gallbladder. Matter of fact, two days after they found the stones, I got so sick I ended up being admitted and having emergency gallbladder surgery. But in the two days between, when I knew I needed to have it out, I had no doubts that I wanted the GB out of my body!

I would not or did not even consider the flush they have been discussing here. I'm not knocking them, it just isnt something I personally would have wanted to do.

I feel like a million bucks now that my gallbladder is gone. I had a rough time because of how bad my gallbladder already was, and did end up having to go back to the hospital a week later with some minor complications. But I have bounced back quite nicely now. Havent felt this good in years.

I wish I could have had it taken out before it became an emergency, but I am just so glad it is gone!!
