Is it possible for hemerrhoids to cause some lower back, and side pain?  Also, can one or more rhoids cause some pain when walking and cutting grass?

Okay, i desparately am seeking some type of suport or help, had a hemroioctomy (surgery) two days later another one comes out, my doctory says this can be normal, I am now am in pain from surgery and now with another one hanging out the size of a golf ball.  I told my dr. he said, keep up with the sitz bath's, to add more horror to this the last 2 days I have had diahreah for over 8 hours at a time and the worst part is i have not been able to each very  much if nothing at all. i have been to the hospital, and they just give me a shot and send me home, now, 5 years ago I had a pain killer addiction and the dr.s well ALL MADE AWARE OF THIS, I told them anything with codein, oxycodone, ets, basically an opiate will not work for me and only make me speed, so they have suggested me to be taking Dilaudid 4mg every 4 hours, to make a long story short, I have been in alot of pain, especially with the diareah, i went to a totall different hospital up in philly, and here they finally said i must have some type of flu or bug and that is why i have diahrea for over the last 2 weeks, now being on dilaudid i should be like blocked right, nope, not me.  because I passed the bloodpressure test of standing up and them taking your blook pressure, that I am not considerd dehyrated.  Alls I know is that is it, I am not goin gback to anymore doctors, and shall i have to get rushed to a hospital due to any illness from this surgery, They better get ready to go bankrupt, cause I will take them Dr.s and the hospital for all they got.  I have talked to many of protcologists, and they stated the 4mg of Dilaudid is way to high even if I have a high tolerance.  I am hopeing to hear back from anyone who has suffered from a hemoroidoctomny such as I, I feel like I am going nuts, my g/f thinks i am just hooked on these pain pills, i just need someone to explain to me and her that this is very painfull surgery and to top it off have another large hemnroid come out and then have a dr. shove a tube up  your butt to look in it without and numbing solutins, that I am nuts and handling this pain very well considering.  HELP, anyone, you may email me at ***@**** or ***@****

Hi John,

Recently on a web site , I did read that hemorrhoids can cause back pain, So don't feel like you are going crazy. My hemorrhoid pain seems to travel to other parts of my body. I think that the hemorrhoid is on the left, so I get pain mostly on my left side.

Hi John

I honestly have never heard someone complain of pain in the back or their legs from hemorrhoids. That is a new one on me! I would think something else would cause that kind of pain.

Hi Robbin

Internal ones can be very painful, we see many patient's with thrombosed hemorrhoids. I have never experianced one but I have been told that it throbs and hurts like heck! Have you seen a specialist for this or just your primary care physician? I would recomend you see someone who deals in it and you can get some tx for it.

Can you have low back pain with these hemmerhoids, or/and pain out into the leg area?

I also suffer from hemorrhoids,They are internal though and absolutly no bleeding. I have a lot of pain and I was told that internal ones do not hurt. I have been to the Dr. who used an anoscope to check it out and he said there was only hemorrhoids, No fissures or anything else abnormal. So why am I having so much pain. Sometimes it feels like throbbing or stabbing. I have the pain all day. Could it be something else. Thanks for any advice. Robbin

I work for a colon and rectal surgery center and have not heard of any hemorrhoids causing discomfort in the back or side but it would cause some pain while walking, especially external ones I'm sure.
