Hi, taking too many laxatives and enemas will make the sphincter muscle slow down working.  I hate to tell you this but drink lots of water and eat foods high in fiber.  No one seems to like doing this but it does work.  Have you been to a gastroenterologist?  I would probably make an appointment.  Anyway, give this a try and see if it helps.  Good Luck!

thanks! i've been to 2 gi drs, and 3 surgeons...I've had the complete work up... my manmometry showed my sphincter muscle to be ok. but, transit showed delay.......Also, I have a large redundant colon that has fallen down and is corkscrewed.......

Holy Cow!  Why haven't they done something for this?  Although, I am not a doctor, that seems dangerous, non-the-less irritating.  I hope you get some relief soon.  Good Luck!
