Can diarrhea be a symptom of diverticulitis?

by Fleur, Jun 04, 2002 12:00AM
I've been having a lot of diarrhea lately and occasionally crampy pain near my left hip.  I have a strong history of diverticulitis in my family.  I always thought constipation is a symptom of that and not diarrhea.  I never have constipation.  Could I have diverticulitis?  The doctor was vague with her answer.
