hi,

just wanted your imput on this, if you all dont mind. heres whats been going on.

since the 4th of july, pain(burning) in middle of upper stomach and sometimes burning on right side,(high small localized area.)

i have had my gall bladder removed.

went to docs. blood test revealed "high liver functions".

gave me stuff for an ulcer and a muscle relaxer for the stomach, not my mind.......those work.

went off of them for a few days just to see and sure enough, bad burning again.

my auntie freaked when i said that my liver functions were high as we do have a relative with hep c and she is sure that i now have it.

have more blood tests schedualed for tomorrow but of course am now wondering if i might have hep c.

what is your opinions? i understand we arent doctors, but people helping people. thanks so much!

hopefully nothing......

High liver enzymes can be caused by many things including being over-weight.  I had high counts due to phyto-estrogens.  Also have hep c in my family and my dad died from a fatty liver due to alcoholism.  Your liver may be more sensitive due to heredity also so watch the alcohol and tylenol type meds and any medication you are on goes through the liver. God bless!!

I also have hx in my family of liver problems. It couldn't hurt for them to run a hepatitis screening on you. Not to worry you but in looking back at all my medical records for last 10 years I had elevated liver function and nothing was said to me. I now have hep-c genotype 1a and stage 4 cirrohsis I'm on tx now but, if it had been done a long time ago the better the chances of the tx working. It's better to be safe. If you need to talk about this any more I'll be glad to try and help.

hi there,

oh im so sorry to hear about whats been happening to you. just your name makes me feel bad. have you been on yahoo to look up hep c sites? there is one that is so cool. shoot, i cant remember the name. i will look for it if you want me to. the person that runs it goes by trishdish or something like that. she is awesome. there is tones of info and friendly people.

i went today and gave blood. the first lady couldnt get a vein to come up so she said the lady next to me would do it. well she didnt, but a more serious lady came up and took it. i think, after reading what they are testing for, really set me apart from all the other people up there having their blood tested.

oh well. its not like i want to be friends with them, and really they should be a bit more educated since that is their job...blood. you cant get hep c just from coming into contact with my blood........right? dont they themselves have to have a cut? oh i dont know. whatever.

will let you all know the results. should have the hep c results wednesday. oh with hep, do you feel "swollen" on the inside? upper middle of stomach. seems when i bend over its tender.

good luck to you and thank you so much for responding!!! i need it all. ive been a zombie today, just waiting for the test results, or as i was thinking as i sat outside, waiting for the grass to grow. hmmmmm, poor family of mine. lol

thanks again!

Hope

Hello, I stay very sore in the abd area at times really bad in RUQ area. At times it's more of a bloated feeling. My sister was treated for hep-c several years age when you had to give yourself three injection a week. But since they found hers so early it was easy to handle. I'm getting sleepu now. I have some good web site for you and I'll send them to later.

Hi Sweetie;  My bottle of tylenol says "may cause liver damage" on the warnings.  You need to find something without acetaminophen in it.  Also, antifungals and antibiotics raise your enzymes.  Rapid weight loss does also so if you decide to diet go slowly.  If you type in www.google.com and then liver disease you will fine 100's of info sites to look at.  You can look up everything in google.  It is a great site.  I'll be praying for you but get off the tylenol ASAP!  :)

Hi -

Have your doctor do a CAT scan of your liver IMMEDIATELY!  I know of which I speak.  My husband is critically ill with a liver problem that he was biopsied for yesterday.  He has been to emergency twice with your symptoms and then some and each time they gave him something for indigestion.  It wasn't until he became SEVERELY ill and I INSISTED on the CAT scan that they found a LARGE nodule and a smaller nodule on his liver and in his lung.  Needless to say we are terrified waiting on the results.

God bless you.
