Just a quick note to say hi!
You deserve a big bear hug!
You're in my thoughts all the time, but especially today.
Thank you for everything!
Welcome to our community!
You are in my thoughts and prayers.
Hope you feel better soon!
Congratulations! Time for a celebration...
Happy Holidays!
Also, you could speak with a holistic nutritionist and ask this question.
Another thing: If you are sensitive to gluten, barley grass may have traces of gluten in it (unintentionally). People with Celiac Disease should avoid anything that is related to barley (due to gluten sensitivity).
Concerned lady
and I think they are upsetting my stomach. I'm running to the bathroom having loose BM.
I'm taking two after I eat. Is this the correct way to take
them and are they known to cause stomach upset? If so, is this something that my body will adjust to? You say in your listing that enzymes are not for everyone - what do you mean by that and how would I know if it's not for me? I just don't want to take anything that's going to make me feel worse than I'm feeling!
Good for you, for recognizing signals that your body is sending you!
There can be many reasons why whatever you are taking is causing the loose stools, IF the diarrhea IS being caused ONLY by supplements.
One or more of the active ingredients may not agree with you, and/or, one or more of the "excipients" (additives/fillers, put into pills & capsules) may not agree with you.
If I were you, I would STOP TAKING the troublesome supplements, and wait until your intestines calm down and recover.
Then, try a DIFFERENT formulation, like, for example, "Acid-Ease" by Prevail. Read the ingredients on the label (full disclosure label), and see if you want to try this one.
Give this a try for a few days, and see what happens.
Then, if you don't like the effects of the "Acid-Ease", you can try "Total Enzymes" by NutriWest (can be purchased from a Chiropracter, etc.), or, try some other brands.
I have to tell you that I too had BAD results from several enzyme PREPARATIONS, and I had to EXPERIMENT ON MYSELF until I found the right "preparation" that agrees with me! Everyone is unique. :-)
I have even had this happen with Vitamin pills! Once, a company had changed ownership, and their new pills caused me to have palpitations! I changed brands, and the palpitations went away.
I don't think that this topic is thought of enough--namely, what are ALL the exact ingredients in supplements that you are taking!
I have even had bad reactions from some "energy bars" that had large numbers of "nutritional additives" in them (herbs, etc.).
Regarding one of your questions--We usually take digestive enzymes at the end of the meal, but sometimes in the middle of the meal, and once in a while at the beginning of the meal.
Follow your instincts, and keep listening to your body!
Sincerely, Concerned lady
