Anyone know the actual cost of gastric banding operation?

I'd like to have this operation. I'm morbidly obese with complications (arthritis, etc.) but have lousy insurance (not that they pay anyway. I've heard ranges of $4,500 to $50,000 for the surgery. One I could afford, the other I couldn't. Does anyone know how much it really costs? I'm in the Tampa Bay area of Florida if that matters.

My sister has looked into that surgery..

She said that they told her the cost of the surgery is around 40,000.00
