Nissan fundoplication

by Bionic Granny, Aug 16, 2002 12:00AM
I had a nissan done over two years ago and now I am having reflux again and was put back oon prilosec twice a day. Has any one gone through the surgery and had reflux again? I had the surgery, because of all the side effects of the drugs used for acid blocking. All this for nothing--Please help with any suggestions. My nissan is still intact, but will be having an endoscope done to see if I have ulcers or whatever.

My surgeon is going to schedule an endoscope when I return from a trip for rest. I pray that the nissan did not slip. After ten surgeries, I'm not sure I would want to risk it again, but Barrett's esophogus I do not wish to have. Someone out there, surely can help me.

I'm on r&r right now at my sister's. I will be having an endoscope done when I return home. It's possible that the acid has done a number on the nissan. It's still intact, but they don't know what it looks like on the inside. Last night, I awoke choking on acid and ran to the bathroom and threw up. I also am back on acid blockers. I just do not want to take this the rest of my life. There has got to be a better way to live. I let you know what happens. You have certainly been helpful to me for some time. Thanks (^.^)
