advice abuot operation

I have gullbladder sludge and irritable bowl syndrom.  I was diagnosed in late march, and against doctors, parents, friends in medical community, and people who have no idea what it is, advice -- I have not elected to have surgery.

So far I have felt pretty good, but lately I feel a bit off.  Nothing major but am getting some stomach pains and feel tired all the time.  I definately notice that stress is a big factor in how I feel.

I have not tried any cleansing, and know I should at least try that before I opt for surgery.  Any opinions on the best therapies?  Also anyone who has or knows of a great book for nutritional eating.  With the IBS, they say to restrict raw fruits and veggies, but come on.  Anyway, trying to eat right...

I have heard too from my health food store that dandelion root tea is a good gall bladder cleanser.

Right now I am taking from my health food store Kolinade which is also a type of cleanser for the colon and intestines...and so far so good. I have been told by my doctor i have ibs and i can get a flare up from just eating a plum, peach or raw veggie.

I get these wicked cramps at times underneath my belly button from one side to the other with my flare ups and go running to the toilet.

It says here on the leaflet that Kolinade is good for gas, bloating, constipation, stomach pain, ibs, diverticulitus, indigestion, parasites, diarrhea, weak and tired feeling.

It also says,

The gastrointestinal tract of every person contains several pounds of accumulated toxic waste...( bits of stools that get stuck and rot inside of you and can cause blockagae too) It is this toxic waste that contributes to constipation, diahrrea and more serious diseases. The waste prevents our body from absorbing vitamins and minerals from the good food we eat. Our blood fails to carry vital nutrients to our cells. The herbal combination in Kolinade is a high fiber dietary formula for the entire body. Take it for several months or make it a regualr part of your diet.

One to three eliminations a day is normal

eliminations should be soft, a light brown in color, not foul smelling and float

Kolinade is not habit forming

the fiber in Kolinade has eight times the bulking power of oat bran

Kolinade can help eliminate fat and help reduce cholesterol by 15%

It is effective in expelling parasites and their eggs

Relieves the bloated feeling, eliminates stagnate waste and the gas produced by it.

Since i have started to take this a week ago, after looking up each and every herbal ingredient it contains and what it is for) by bowel movements have been more firmer but green in color at first. I noticed white squiggly things in my stool and a couple of things that looked like kidney beans (whole) which I never eat.

It is now brown in color and pretty clean looking and formed and I don't have that run to the toilet urgency when i need to go.

I also notice my heart burn is not as bad anymore and I am taking less Zantac. Mind you the health food i go to has a very informative staff there and they tell me step by step and go over info in their books with me. I do not take pills before finding out about each and every ingredient.

I am not trying to sell you on this but thought to tell you what is working so far for me. I still watch what i eat though...they also told me it is very important for me to stay away from junk foods and food prepared in the microwave ...which i never cook in anyways. Plus i take my probiotics every day too.

take care..i wish you well
