Pain

by Michelle4999, Aug 23, 2002 12:00AM
I have been having a series of health problems for over a year now and I don't feel that I am getting anywhere with my doctor.

I was on Lupron-Depot last year for 5 months. The doctor was trying to prevent a hysterectomy but I ended up having my uterus removed anyway. Since then, I have had severe adema, Chronic fatigue, bowel bloating , gasy and diareaha. I was passing blood clots from my rectum the size of quarters but that has stopped.  I have a lot of lower back pain to. I have been put on antidepressants because of my moodswings and chronic fatigue as well. While on the shots I gained 50 pounds. And I have been unable to loose wait. Please someone help me figure out what to do. I have tried to go to a doctor that uses herbs but the adema got so bad and the pain in my lower back got so severe that I had to stop treatment. I was hospitalized recently with severe side pain and they couldn't figure out what was wrong other than possibly colin spasms..The Cat Scan didn't show probelms with my appendex or kidney stones..Help me please, someone...

Go see another Dr. Have you had a colonoscopy yet? I would say if your Dr can't help you - it is time to move on. Keep searching until you find a Dr who will work with you - until you find an answer. Get copies of your records for yourself as well as a new Dr. There has to be an answer.

Good luck

Thanks I thought I should see someone else too. I had a colonoscopy about a year ago, before my surgery and I was fine then. When I went to the emergency room a week ago the doctor asked me why my doctor had me on so many medications for colitis but has not scheduled me for a colonoscopy. He said that is the only way to really determine the diagnosis. He said I had classic symptoms of gallbladder problems (which runs in the family) but all of my tests so far (ultrasound and catscan) are negative. So I called my doctor and was very careful how to mention that I needed one and he got really angry and said that my pain was a spasm and is normal for a person with colitis and that in a few weeks if things dont change he will send me to a specialist. The thing I am concerned about is I think all of these problems I am having (the fatigue, the mood swings, the lower stomach pain the side pain and the diareaha )are related to those injections I had last year but I haven't been able to convince anyone of that yet..I just want to have one day that I actually feel well...
