I posted a few weeks back about a pain I was having in my abdomen about three inches to the right of my naval. I had experienced it for about a year. Had scan and other test yet could not find anything. I went to my doctor on Aug. 6th who has set me up for a colonoscopy.I go to the Dr who will do the colonoscopy for initial visit Aug. 27th.

On the day after I went to my doctor I ran into a man I work with who has the identical same pain in the same area. He has already been diagnosed with diverticulitis. He said his Dr. told him diverticulitis usualy causes pain on the left side, but there are occasions it occures on the right side. The one thing he was advised was to increase his fiber intake. The one difference is his pain was far more intense than mine.

I thought I probably need to increase my intake as well couldn't hurt. In the morning I have been taking a tablespoon of Millers unprocessed bran with a full glass of water. At night a tablespoon of metamucil in water. I have been doing this since Aug. 8th.

I have never-ever had any problem with constipation. Yet my B/M were not loose but not very formed.

Now since starting the extra fiber my B/M are firm and formed and I after the third day  Aug 11th I have had "NO PAIN". I go to the surgeon next week who will do the colonoscopy for the preliminary visit. I am going to pass this information on to him and see what his thoughts are.

I just thought I would share this with all of you.
