What causes the bacteria to reoccurr?

by TimC., Sep 02, 2002 12:00AM
I have been treated numerous times for the H-pylori bacteria.  I have suffered with ulcers in the past.  In June I was re-infected with the bacteria... took the 2 week regime of medicines and now I can feel the symptoms returning.  Is there something that I am possibly eating that is causing the return of the bacteria so soon?  Any suggestions would be appreciated.  I am not looking forward to 2 weeks of medicine again so soon.

If you find the answer to your question please let me know. I'm on my 2nd round of antibiotics since April for h. pylori. This is getting real old.

Do you take "good" bacteria supplements? It comes in drinks in the UK - one's called Yakult; supermarkets sell them.

There is a great deal of anecdotal evidence that they help offset recurrences, though no medical confirmation as far as I know. Might be worth a try, anyway.
