Just say thanks for the comments to my query, this forum has helped me considerably. I have an appointment with a specialist in a few months time.
Once again thank you

I totally agree, you need to see a specialist. i too had the same symptoms and had tests done and revealed i had a ring in my esophagus that they had to dialate (thats what was causing it to feel like there was a lump in my throat), it was right at the bottom of my throat, joining on my neck. I also had a nissen fundoplication done as there was a lot of defects in my esophagus. i also had to have my gallbladder removed. I feel much better now, occasionally still have the something stuck in my throat feeling, but better than it was, i may need repeat dialation, also the heartburn etc all gone now.
I really suggest you get a scope done to see whats going one, and possibly a ph probe and motility study done.Goodluck
Does the pain in your throat feel like you have a big pill stuck in there? Ask your doctor to investigate if you have a Hiatel Hernia. I had the same symptoms and was prescribed Nexium. The fullness in the bottom of my throat feels much better but it is still there. It will take time for the Nexium to get the hernia under control..So I am told. I also just had an Ultrasound done and found that I have a 'diseased gallbladder'. Only symptoms are severe nausea and pain under my breast bone.
I was also told that the pain in my throat could also be from bile irritating my esophagus.
Seeing a specialist is your best chance at getting to the bottom of this. Good luck to you!
Hi everyone
Sorry my original message was a bit vague. I am a 29 year old female. I have a kind of strange obstruction at the bottom of my throat for about 2 months. The burning pains in my back, chest, under left bust and stomach for about 6 weeks. Doctor is very unhelpful. Could I have GERD? or an ulcer possibly.
Thanks everyone
Are you having difficulty swallowing? How long have you had the heartburn? What age group are you in? Depending on the answers to these questions, it may be wise to ask for a referral to a Gastroenterologist, who would probably start her/his examination with an endoscopy.
