Anyone Have Anything Similar?

by Rickenbrode, Sep 14, 2002 12:00AM
Nearly 10 years ago I had the typical feeling of "something stuck in the back of my throat" that so many have described in regard to GERD problems. At that time I had an endoscopy done as well as scan of the area. Nothing was really found and I was told to change eating habits, etc.

This throat discomfort gradually increased and to make a long story short has NEVER gone away and has grown to involve the area from the back of my throat to my lower esophagus and into my gall bladder area. At times this is simply an inconvenience, at others it feels as if my throat is swelling shut. Swallowing of food has not been a problem really, but pills and food seem to "catch".

Now the latest weird part of all this. The last 6 months or so whenever my throat "swells" and tightens, I get dizzy. In fact several times almost to the point of passing out.

I am begining to wonder if perhaps rather than GERD I may have a growth or tumor that is causing all these symptoms that is large enough now to put pressure on my carotid artery when it "swells".

Please know I am not a nut case, or don't THINK I am anyway!*L* I have never been a whiner or hypochondriac, but this has gotten to a point that it impacts daily life in a negative way.

I am NOT a doctor..but no doctor has EVER been able to give me a satisfactory answer to these symptoms or a cure or real help in solving it.

Anyone have anything similar...especially with the dizziness involved when you have esopheal problems? I am anxious to talk to ANYONE who has similar symptoms that has alleviated them in any ways and how. THANKS!

Hi

I don't think I can be much help, but I have been suffering for a few months with a blockage at the bottom of my throat. I also suffer dry heaving, and burning pains. The Doctor insists it is all in my mind and has tried to prescribe me tranquillizers which I have declined to take. I have been offered no concrete help. All I can tell you is you are not on your own. I am waiting to see a specialist (3 months waiting list in the UK)

Truly hope you find some answers, stay positive (hard I know)

I just stumbled onto your post...I've been struggling with much of the same thing, and my story is very similar--doctors are next to worthless, and I feel almost hopeless.  It's a long story I'd be happy to share with you if you're interested, but I'm so sick of it all that I don't even feel like typing this right now!  It's been a bad night since I got home from work.  If you're interested in discussing further, you can email me at ***@****

Lately I've been making a diary of everything I do and all the symptoms/times/medicines to try to figure it out myself.  You're not alone.  I'd be happy to try to help each other.  Good luck and God bless.

To: I am going mad!!
Hi all,

For the last three months I had similar symptoms.

It all started with a sudden severe diarrhea, fever and pain on the left of my rib cage, now the pain has subsided, fever and diarrhea gone to be replaced with this strange sensation at the back of my throat as if I have something stuck in there coupled with intermittent general weakness and very itchy skin all over my body and sometimes dark-colored sometimes light-colored (chalky like) stool.

I am otherwise a healthy 34 yrs old guy with no history of medical problems.

Doctors (in my case) were as useful as a chocolate tea-pot!

Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Many thanks.

Hello sufferers. I know and relate to you all. DOCTORS ARE WORTHLESS!!! I have been ill for two years now. I felt great all my life and bam one day I couldn't breathe, my chest was so tender and sore around the right breast. It moved to the left and then center.I am now 29 and getting worse. My gallbladder has been checked twice. I have been admitted for heart study because of dizziness and chest pain. EKG, heart enzyme, holter monitor, event monitor, stress test, CT scan of chest and ab. Multitudes of bloodwork. I am now scheduled for a MRI of my heart. I have very very frequent PVC's. I feel lousy all the time! It has riuned my once active life. I do have some reflux and after upper endoscopy was told I have a distille esoph. and a small hiat. hernia. I was given acciphex, tried nexium. None of it worked except for relieving heart burn. Every breath I take is labored. My PFT test was normal. No lung dysfunction,

I try to link this to two events.

1: While playing football I got hit really hard around the sternum. I was told after X-ray there was no trauma. It sure felt like it to me.

          2. I accidently mixed two drain cleaners Hypochloric acid (DRAIN0) and sodium hypochlorite (the works) I had to evacuate the house around 3AM because of fumes. Again CT scan looked ok. Only thing conclusive I have many PVC's, and a hiat. hernia. Are they really related. My gallblader showed a 37% emptying. Is this on the low side? I was told it is within normal range.

As for my heart ,they say it is healthy but when exerted I feel awful. I feel it pounding out of my chest. This has completely ruined my life. My activity level is so low.Is this really all gastro?????What are my options. They also tell me I am anxious and this is stress. My only stress is two years and many test and doctors have been inconclusive!!! I am not crazy. I also was pres. a "DOWNER" I refuse to take. They are so full of ****.I have lost 20 pounds and my sanity. Help someone.

i don't work for these guys but the info makes sense

so far what I'm doing is helping //probiotics

check their website copy this and reserch the site.

http://www.iknowthecause.com/shop.mv?PROD=funguslink

what fungal illness is, how common a health problem it is, how to recognize it by its symptoms, and how to eradicate it from the body. The testimonials presented give strong support to the seriousness and frequency of fungal illness as a human health problem.

I, too, have seen in my own practice fungi representing the primary underlying cause of diverse health conditions including chronic fatigue syndrome, crippling arthritis,

severe intestinal disorders,

chronic allergies, chronic respiratory illness, “brain fog” syndrome, depression, and chronic skin conditions (eczema, psoriasis, pruritic dermatitis). The sections written by other health professionals prove that fungal illness is being recognized by more and more doctors for its serious impact on human health.
