I don't have any side effects other than my chin seems to be breaking out but I don't know if it's because of Carafate or a new face cream I'm using.

No, I don't have any sulfar belching that I'm aware of.  I do belch but don't pay alot of attention.

I was told that Carafate is presecribed for ulcer patients and my doctor hesitated in prescribing it for me. He told me that Carafate coats the stomach lining and needs something to "stick to".  With ulcers, you have a wall of sores which Carafate will coat, with gastritis, it's more of a smooth surface.

Are you taking carafate for gastritis?

No not for gastritis... my doctor says Gerd, but I'm thinking that maybe GERD and gastritis. I don't know ... all I know is

I feel crappy most days. I do have a few good days but mostly not. I don't feel it is my gall bladder because I can eat fatty foods and not experince pain. I feel so sorry for you and everyone one this board, now I know what it feels like and wow does it take a lot out of you! I just want to feel better.

I hope that in time Nanci you start to feel well also!

Take Care and thanks for taking the time to reply.

God Bless,

jamdale.
