Hi,

I've been taking it for three months now for both gastritis and GERD and have seen some improvement.  It has a pleasant taste and really doesn't cost that much.  For some reason, my body just can't handle the PPIs, so I take prescription Zantac also.  I still have my ups and downs with heartburn, but nothing like it was 5 months ago and the gastritis is about gone or at least seems that way.  At least I can eat without getting nauseous and have put on some of the 25 pounds that I lost.  But, I don't know if it relates to the fact that I've been taking Iberogast.  Do you have the writeup on it from Dr. Murrey?  If not, email me at ***@**** and I'll give it to you.

It's an herbal blend that is supposed to help with digestion. If you want to read more about it, the website is www.doctormurray.com/Qarchive/iberogast.htm.

Sagie,

This is Romy.  I think you were the person I corresponded with concerning removal of gallbladder back in April.  How are you feeling now.  If I am mistaken, please disregard.

Hi,

It was me about the GB removal in April.  Still having problems with GERD and went to see a GI in June and had another scope.  The results came back as the first one - GERD.  Was switched back over to Nexium from Previcid and also prescription Zantac.  After the scope, the Nexium started giving me problems and called the GI about it.  Was told that some folks just can't tolerate Nexium and just to try the Zantac.  Went back to Previcid and the same problems as the Nexium, so now I'm stuck with not being able to take any of them as I have tried everything but Aciphex.  My body just doesn't like PPIs for some reason.  Everytime I take them, I get WORSE heartburn if that is possible, terrible bloating and ab pain.  And I've been on them since January.  I go to see my PCP in a little over a week and I'm going to discuss the situation with her as I wasn't really satisfied with the GI I saw.  He had this "I've seen this so many times" attitude that I just didn't care for and he's supposed to be one of the best in this area with what few we have.

How have you been doing?  Did you make the move yet?

Hi,

I had my GB removed in March of this year.  Was scoped in January as that is when the heartburn started and put on Prilosec.  After the scope, I was switched to Previcid (insurance company has a hard time with PPIs and will only allow 30 days worth unless the doctor calls and tells them why he wants the patient on for a longer period of time).  Took Previcid for about 2 months and then had the GB surgery which seemed to make things worse.  I had nonstop diarreaha, nauseous all the time, couldn't eat, burning in my stomach (also was told I had gastritis, but negative for H-pylori) and ended up in the ER with severe dehydration.  I was switched to Protonix which only made the problems worse.  I then was switched back again to Previcid (by this time my insurance company is ready to get rid of me).  I saw the GI doc in June, or I should say his PA and then scoped again.  Same outcome, GERD and switched to Nexium and prescription Zantac.  The Nexium worked for about 2 weeks and then I JUST couldn't take it anymore.  The heartburn was terrible along with the ab pain.  I check out both this site and Heartburn-Help and someone in there mentioned the Iberogast.  I thought, why not, I've already spent half my income on everything else that doesn't work.  It was about a month and I did see some improvement.  It is not a cure-all by any means, but for me, it has given me some improvement.  I had lost 20 pounds in one month and then 5 more after that and have now gained some of that back.  I know one thing, before I had the GB surgery, I could eat anything I wanted, no problem.  Now I have several trigger foods, which I avoid, and believe it or not, tuna is one of them.  For more info on this, I posted the website above.
