10 yr old with irritable Bowel

by Jannacle, Dec 01, 2002 12:00AM
My 10 year old son frequently has very painful intestinal cramps.  We thought he was allergic to milk.  That wasn't it.  I've given him many diffent over the counter medications including gas-x, no real help.  It seems to be worse after he eats spicy food sometimes and he often get ill after eating the school lunches but usually doesn't at home.  Does this sound like it might be irritable bowel?  Is it some kind of food allergy.

Sounds like it could be a food alergy of some sort or ulcer.  Have you not taken him into a doctor for testing?

he could have esophageal reflux since it gts worse after spicy foods.....you may want to try  tums or an antacid when it happens but check with your doctor
