Update--Still in pain but nothing showed on CT

Just an update on my stomach troubles.  I was recommended to a different GI specialist who seemed really concerned and said that he would do all the tests in order to rule out anything that may be in his field.  Still having pain in Upper Right Quadrant and around my back under my shoulder blades, also distended bowels on a daily basis.  No other pancreatitis attacks since Sept.  Initially the doctors thought it was Sphincter of Oddi Dysfunction but now they think possible tumor or endometriosis.  Scary stuff!!  I went back to work for the first time in 2 months.  It was hard because I'm taking Tylenol 3's for pain and everything is kind of a blur.  Even the Tylenol 3's don't seem to help the pain directly--they just numb everything else.  I literally had to close my eyes and rest at work.  Not good.  I've tried anything and everything to help out with the exhaustion (which seems extreme) but nothing has had much effect.  It would be nice if there was a miracle pill but I have yet to come across it.
My CT scan came back normal and now I have to wait 6wks-2ms to have the MRI.  It's a waiting game here.  Had some blood work done as well which will test liver and pancreas enzyme levels and cholesterol + triglycerides.  Probably won't hear about those results for 7 days or so.
Thanks to everyone who has been giving comments and advice.  Please keep posting.  It helps to have as much advice as possible.  ~~HAPPY HOLIDAYS~~

I was under the impression that the only test that checked your GB's ability to function was a HIDA with CCK. What will the MRI show??

P.S.....4 days post surgery...my daughter is doing OK...she is still being VERY careful what she eats...but the constant nausea is gone. Will keep you posted..

I did have an ERCP done.  The results showed nothing.  They won't do a second ERCP with menometry because they fear it will put me back in the hospital.  So now I have to have the MRI which apparently will be just like having a scope but without the invasiveness.  This has been going on for three years now.  I'm worried about the further damage that may be happening during all this time as I'm sure a lot of you out there understand as well. The pain seems to be bad around my navel too.  I find if I elevate my knees during the night it helps with the navel pain as it can feel worse in the morning as well.
I didn't get another HIDA done but I'm sure my MRI will be more accurate as to whether anything shows or not.  I have discussed having my gallbladder taken out possibly at the same time they do a laparoscopy to check for endometriosis.
Gardenmaniac--Glad to know your daughter is on the mend.

Hey...did you ever get another HIDA with CCK?

Wanted to let you know that my daughter had a 2nd test done & this time the ejection fraction was 8%...32% the first time. she had her GB removed yesterday...we are back home now.

the surgeon did some type of "duct work" test while he was in there to see if anything was plugged up...similar to a ERCP..put something in the ducts & X-rayed them...they were ok..he didn't see any scar tissue either , so we hope this fixes her problem...he was still only saying 60-70% chance...

Wondered how you were doing....

When I speak of my pain it encompasses a section from the navel to the upper right rib cage.  The bowel distention I refer to is a feeling that the bowel just behind the navel becomes inflamed and it feels impacted.  That feeling is worse in the morning and gradually just settles to pain between the navel and the sternum.  Are you experiencing similar symptoms?

When you talk about your pain, are you refering to the upper right?
Also what is distended bowel?

You are not alone.  I have been going through it for 2 years and haven't worked since March 2002.  I have pain in URQ and radiates into my upper back between the shoulder blades. I also have bowel distention.  After all this time it is now affecting my heart and I have pretty constant chest pain as well.  I was just tested for an adrenal tumor, (which came back negative...whew!)  I am going for another gastroscopy and am holding out hope for that.  I have such bad flair ups that I could not work during those times, so I am trying to manage financially without a diagnosis. I'm thinking it may have to do with an inflammatory disease, since it kind of feels like everything becomes inflamed and sore. If you haven't had one yet, it seems a scope would be in order. Please let us know, if you make any progress.
