Loose bowels w/little sacs

by BabyToes, Jan 06, 2003 12:00AM
Hi, I would appreciate any advice on this. For about a month now, I often have loose bowels. Sometimes I see this little sac like thing in it. It's yellowish and looks just like a cornnut, however, it is not hard. Its very gushy. Usually one is there, sometimes two.

Thanks in advance...

I would have thought I wrote that description myself!   Kind of relieving to hear someone else has the same thing.   10 years ago my GI problems started.   I went through every test known to man and finally they put me on an antibiotic and that was it!  I just did research and sounds like it was for the h. pylori bacteria..... and now I'm wondering if it is back and if I have low acid from more research on the web last night.

Anyway, it is chronic; it doesn't happen all the time, in fact, a small percentage, and does seem to clear after each antibiotic (for strep or such).   I do have lots of nausea (that gets worse at "that time of the month")  with lots of burping.  All of these symptoms have made me conclude the above.   Please let me know you continued course and symptoms, as I thought I was alone in my scare of these most odd bowel movements.

I think I have the same thing.... and I've had it for awhile now.

but I just set an appointment to go see the doc.

What can I tell him so he gets it right and doesn't take my liver out or something? I'm 34 and really don't want someone hacking around on me at such an early age.

What's weird about this is that it doesn't happen all the time. Sometimes the BM looks normal. If I drink coffee that really loosens it up for me and I don't drink coffee that often because it seems to irritate it. Also onions have a very bad effect as well. I am able to drink pop once in awhile... to much and it will flare up.

I have a constant pressure to the left side of the sternum as well... do either of you have that?

No pressure on the sternum.   I guess for us, it's what we eat that is triggering it.  Mine is after buttered popcorn a lot.  But the nausea and burping are the most bothersome to me.   When I went through all of this years ago, they did a liver biopsy (ouch) and told me I had fatty infiltration of the liver.   However, my triglicerides were sky high at the time.   They are still a bit elevated, but much better, with good cholesterol levels for the first time.  I am Diabetic, and ever since I got on the insulin pump, the levels are more stable.   I know if my diet were better, I'd be better, but I'm not all that disciplined.
