Had a blood test done, AST 73, ALT 173... the doctor said I should get my liver specialist to look at these results, so I'll be making an emergency booking tomorrow. I'll let you guys know on my liver specialist's feedback.
lol !! woody allen moment ha ha too much, that's funny, cuz we all have them....think i have woody allen weeks, not moments.
almost didn't go down this far to see this,,,things get buried way down under, i forget sometimes to keep scrolling down,,glad i did,,,,i needed the laugh.
thanks, you know 'exactly' what I'm talking about, ha ha! well, just count it off as another little Woody Allen moment on my part, lol. Doc told me they were nothing too but of course reading this thread got my neurosis up....they are really pretty aren't they? he he he....
I know the ones you are talking about,,,I have those also for years, alot of people do, there nothing, I think,,,very tiny strawberry colored, raised wart type thingy things, very pretty lol, bleeds if you shave over them... very tiny, but will bleed a river down your leg.lol
These other things are definitely "under the skin," totally flat and definitely blood,,unfortuanatley, seems like it points to cryo, but I will find out for sure in a few weeks.
I have had these little "strawberry moles" (they are red) for years and was told by a doc that they were indicative of nothing, now I'm wondering... I do see them on other people that don't have hep c though, I think...I do seem to have the concentration of them around my stomach area, a few on my arms, legs, to me they look like tiny little moles because they are raised a bit...they aren't completely flat...they are for the most part very small...maybe Ina or Jim would know something? thanks!!!
Hi Shawn,
I had the same question a while back. IMO its not from the tx., because I have the tiny pin sized blood spots and I am NOT tx yet.
Showed the doctor, she didn't comment, I may know more, hopefully when I see her in October.
She is also testing me for cryoglobulins, which quite a few seem to get with Hep c. I think, If I remember correctly, 45-50% with hep c have cryo. Do a search to see for sure.
I'm not saying that I know that this is what the spots are from, but its crossed my mind because cryo causes blood vessels to burst. These spots are so tiny,so I don't know, but to me it seems like it has to be that blood is leaking out from somewhere, because it is definitely blood and they stand alone, it's not spider angioma.
So, if you hear anything from your doctor as to what he thinks it is, let me know and I will do the same.
sorry i did not see the title was for hepatitis B. this is why i probably never heard of those meds. i thought this was a forum for hepatitis C. anyway i have a few of the red dots on my chest and i have not started tx yet, they seem to fade away after a few weeks. all my labs are normal and liver minimal damage so i do not think it is from progression or extent of virus.
Lamivudine (Epivir-HBV, Zeffix, or Heptodin) is a pill that is taken once a day, with almost no side effects. Approved in 1998 and available for both children and adults.
Adefovir dipivoxil (Hepsera) is a pill taken once a day, with few side effects. Approved September 2002 and available only for adults.
what is lavimidine and hepsera? what country are you in?
I am not familiar with the tx you are on, mostly we all are on the peg/riba with a few vx-950 thrown in that are in trials, but cryo is a possibility, I do have it, and you desribed it well, but cryo is a cetain antibody that traps the virus and sometimes clogs the small vessles (capillaries)and they burst making the little dots, but since the first week of tx the symtoms have lessened to nothing. Cryo has nothing to do with the progression of the disease. Next set of bloodwork have the Doc ck you for it.
