Question Title: Beta-Hcg

Forum: The Maternal and Child Health Forum
Topic: Pregnancy - Abnormal

My Hcg level is not at the level it should be at. Is there a treatment
or medicine that the doctor can prescribe for me to bring the level up
to normalcy and help prevent me from having a miscarriage?

Dear Kristie:

hCG is the hormone secreted by a "normally developing pregnancy". It is a symptom of a problem; it is not the problem. A parallel example is when your vacuum cleaner stops picking up dirt because the bag is full. Adding suction is not answer: putting in a new bag is the solution.

There is no treatment that raises the hCG level and saves a failing pregnancy.
