Dear Drs

I have been on clomid 5x with not luck. Husband is having surgey now for vericose in scrotum. My ? is I will be away visiting my family for 6 wks and I want to take clomid on the cycle before Im due home to maximise the chance in getting preg early. I hope Im clear. Is this safe to take with out being watched by a dr? ASAP

AS ALWAYS THANKS

Dear Ana:
Clomiphene citrate (trade name Clomid) is usually given under medical supervision. In patients who have used the medication during two months without a problem, I have been willing to supervise the care during alternate months. This is an individual physician decision and you must discuss it with your physician.
When women travel, especially across time zones or into different climates, menstrual cycles may become irregular and clomiphene may not overcome this effect.
