Dear doctor,
Whenever I am under alot of stress, or travel, etc. I don't ovulate that month and have a very scant period (usually brown). My question is, since we are trying to conceive, can you get pregnant the next month following such a period or is it necessary to have a normal period before for implantation reasons? Thanks for your comments.

Dear chelsea:
Anovulation cycles can have any amount of bleeding: slight or heavy. This has no meaning to the preparation of the endometrial lining to host a pregnancy in the following cycle. Thus, you can become pregnant if you ovulate the next month.

Keywords: anovulation, bleeding
