Forum: The Maternal and Child Health Forum
Topic: Pregnancy - Abnormal

Losing your virginity? Can it cause a girl to have a late menstrual period.
If so, how late on the average will it be. and why does this occur.

Dear Daniel:
A first intercourse is not in itself a reason that a lady would stop having menstrual periods. However, if one becomes pregnant, menses do not resume. If the experience was traumatic, menstrual flow may be interrupted.
Pregnancy last 9 months. Post-Traumatic shock syndrome has no time limit.

Keywords: no menses following intercourse
