I am currently 14 weeks -LMP1-7-99-- When we heard the heart rate it was 166-is this too high-I was nervous can that affect?? We have history of infant heart defects in the families and I am nervous. I will have a level 2 U/S in 3 weeks. My 2 previous children are both healthy. Thank you in advance for any information.

Normal average baseline fetal heart rate ranges from 110 to 160. However, accelerations in the heart rate (usually associated with fetal movement) often rise above 160, going as high as 180 to 190. Your baby's heart rate is within the normal expectation.
