Question Title: chronic yeast infectionsForum: The Maternal and Child Health Forum
| ||||
i have been getting yeast infections every two or three months for almost a year now. i have been told this can be indicative of more serious problems. what kind of problems? and what can i do to get rid of these infections? (history: same partner for 9 years, 2 children, 27 years old, had partial hysterectomy at 22) please help! this is driving me crazy!! :) thank you -------------------------------------------------------------------- Chronic yeast is generally not considered a sexually transmitted disease. It may be related to diet, hygiene, (i.e. cotton underwear). It can also be related to underlying medical problems such as diabetes. You need to be certain also that you are completing your entire treatment course. Discuss these possibilities with your provider, some of these can be ruled out with a simple blood test. Watch your sweets intake, eat yogurt, wear loose fitting underclothes, avoid tight fitting jeans.
