Posted by Patty on May 21, 1999 at 11:24:36Hi I became pg for the fist time this past cycle with the use of Chlomid. My husband and I had tried for 10 mos. prior. My cycles were always irregular and I knew that sometimes I did ovulate but sometimes I didn't. I was on 50 mg of Chlomid and got pg. 4 weeks after conception, I had an U/S that showed nothing in the uterus and it was a suspected ectopic. I had some soreness and pain in my right side as well as light brown spotting. Could the Chlomid have caused this? I realize there are many reasons why an ectopic could happen.... since this was my first pregnancy and I have no knowledge of having PID, endo or untreated STD's/ could the chlomid have possibly caused this. If there is possibility... how do I continue to use the chlomid without this happening again??? Thanks! Patty

Although tubal damage is the widely recognized association with ectopic pregnancy, the disease occurs in patients with no risk factors (Traffic accidents occur to people who have a clean record and were paying attention. Clomiphene has been available for 30+ years. We have had lots of time to discover associations. Keywrods: clomiphene, ectopic pregnancy This information is provided for education purposes and is not a medical consutlation.
