Dr
A little history first, Ive benn trying to get preg for 4 yrs and have been on clomid 4x with no luck. Finally a Dr suggested my husband be check which turned out he had vericocele in both sides left being more severe. He has had the operation and things went well I guess? his balls are very tender but eveything is working, excuse the humor I have to be this way or I'll scream from this whole experience. I am experienced now with when Im getting my period and all that comes with PMS. I have been reading the Book Taking Charge of your fertility, and this has helped.I have some questions if you can please help me or find out for me. I tryed this month for the first time after the operation to get preg, and these are my ???
Can You please tell me what position the cervix is at, hi-lo and soft or firm when you are in the first mo. of pregnacy.? And what the cervical fluid would be creamy, dry, or slippery, or nothing if I were preg.

A Quick response would be so kind as my ov time is limited.

Thank You so much.

Dear Lonnie:

The cervix does not move up/down the vagina. Hence I am unclear what you mean by hi-lo. The cervix does change its orientation to the long axis of the vagina and can tip so that the opening is against the front wall (anterior) or the back wall (posterior) or mid-position. In early pregnancy, the cervix is usually very posterior and in a minority of women, very anterior.
Cervical mucus is thin, watery, copious, slippery during the days immediately before ovulation. It then becomes scant, thick, non-stretchable and remains that way through the second half of the cycle and throughout pregnancy.
