Period after Clomid

by jluhart, Aug 14, 2005 12:00AM
I finished my first round of Clomid on July 21st, had my progesterone level indicate ovulation on August 4th (CD21), and have been spotting dark brown since August 12th.  Today is CD 31 and I am still waiting for actual AF.  I am supposed to call my doctor if my period has not shown up on CD 31, which is today.  If I don't start later today, I'll call her tomorrow.

My stomach has been sour and my breasts sore since Friday, August 12th.  I just wish if she was going to come, she would do it already.  That way, I can start my next Clomid cycle.  Should I just count this as a period, and if so, when is CD 1?  Has anyone else had this happen?

why dont you take a HPT and see; otherwise you have to do a blood test before starting a new Cycle. If negative your DR. might prescribe Provera to bring your period back and then start Clomid again.

I hope what you're having is not a period, cse they say brown discharge is suppose to be old blood, or could be implantation, hopefully.

Good luck :)

i had the same thing happen to me.....my cycles got longer on the clomid. the dr told me they would ....i was a 30 day cycle compared to 26-28 days. i was on my 2nd clomid cycle and when AF came i spotted for 2 weeks.....arg! finally i started to bleed on jul 10 till jul 18.....i counted 28 days from the 10th and sure enough....that was day 1, cuz i got AF exactly on the right day. i couldn't take clomid though cuz my dr wanted my cycle to normal out :(. so i would not count spotting as day 1, plus brown indicates old blood, could be an implant bleed. the embryo has to implant before you can test for pg. it is the actual implanted embryo that produces HCG, which in ture ups the progesterone production from the overy it was released from. so i would call her tomorrow and get tested, you might be pg.....and if not they will make sure you leave with AF producing meds, and your clomid.

good luck and i hope you get a BFP!!!!

Thanks for the responses.  AF showed up last night.  At least I know that yesterday was CD 1.

i started clomid three months ago. I fell pregnant off the first month. But in a pg test it didnt actually show up untill week six. so there is a chance that you could be pg wait a couple more weeks before you go back on clomid.

I used Clomid for my 1st pregnancy (3 years ago) and always started my period on day 28 while on Clomid.  Now I am in my 2nd month of being on Clomid for the 2nd time and today was day 28 and no period.  Do you think it's possible to have a longer cycle on it, even though I never did before?
