Predicting Ovulation- First timer:)

by bjbbeauchamp, Mar 21, 2007 12:00AM
Ok, so I have always been on the pill and when I got pregnant with my DD I was on the pill. Well, we have talked about trying for a boy or really just another healthy baby and we want to try and plan this one. But the thing is in order to do so I would really want to predict when I ovulate and all that good stuff, but I am really worried that if I get off of the pill I will immediately get pregnant since my DD was a surprise:). I know there are methods that people use all the time in order not to get pregnant without the pill. I know a few, but are there some that really work for those who are susceptible to getting pregnant really easy or I guess people that have husbands that have really active sperm lol?  I just really want to plan this and want to time everything right. I am new to this and have never done this before. What are the ovulation kits and where can I get them? Do you have to take your temp as well or can you just do the ovulation test?

hi, you can get ovulation kits from pretty much any drug/pharmacy store, such as CVS, Rite Aid, Eckerd, Walgreens etc.. You can take your temperature is you would like and track you Basal Body Temperature, so that you will know when you are ovulating. Most people ovulate between the 11-18th day of their cycle depending on how your cycle goes.

Hope this helps :-)
