Posted by Denise on July 13, 1999 at 21:15:17 I have been taking 50mg of paxil daily since November 1997, for It worked and I feel great EXCEPT now my liver enzymes are elevated probably because of the paxil, and I may have to stop taking it, I don't want to stop the paxil but I do not want to be sick in other ways, what can I do? I don't want to lose life again.

I am glad that you are feeling better on Paxil. Placebo- controlled trials showed that patients treated with paxil showed abnormal values on liver function tests at no greater rate than seen in placebo treated patients. In elderly or debilitated petients with severe liver diseases, paxil is used but at a lower dosage. Key words: Paxil
