36 yr old with knee, hip pain and stiffness

I have had increasing knee pain and stiffness, I find it much worse during my period. Over the past few days it has gotten much worse and now my hips are very stiff and painful after sitting.  My knees are especially painfull when going up stairs or getting up from a sitting position.  I have no other symptoms, and the joints are not swollen.  I take Voltaren Rapid for headaches (migraine). My father has arthitis in his knees, but I feel I am probably too young for arthritis.  If it is the start of arthitis, I would like to do whatever I can to slow it down, is exercise good?  Although I am very thin with a small bone structure, (5'8/ 125 lbs.) I do not exercise at all.

Thank-you

What could I take for severe knee pain. I know it is arthritis.I take Celebrex and two Tylenol. This does not help. I need to get a good nights sleep without the pain
