Benadryl and panic

In Feb, I recently started developing all the symptoms associated with panic attacks - my heartrate has become elevated most of the time as well.  Any way, I had been using Benadryl for a couple of years - almost every day since I have really bad allergies.  In Nov/Dec I decided to try and use prescription allergy medication and stopped using Benadryl.  I am just wondering if my prolonged frequent use of Benadryl could have possibly lead to withdrawl symtoms of panic.  If so is there anything I can do to help it?

It is very unlikely, although Bendadryl will suppress some anxiety just because of its general sedative effect. But your new allergy medicine may make it worse if there is an adrenergic component to the medication.Ask your pharmacist.
