Amnesia Support Group

I am searching for an Amnesia Support group close to my area. I believe that I have had amnesia for 16yrs and would find it really helpful to be able to talk with others. This is a very isolating situation and has caused alot of stress, depression and anxiety. I am on Medi-cal and very limited to medical help. I would appreciate any help/information that you may have. Psychiatrists get frustrated with me because medications have reverse effects on me or bad reactions. Some say that I don't ask questions in the right way to get the right help.

All of this occured after continuous use of Kwell lotion and Lindane lotion that was prescribed to me for itching and feeling bug bites.  I was tested for allergies, years before this occured, and dust was and is on the top of the list.

With the amnesia, my personality is different, and everyone still wants me to come back to the way I was.  I don't know who that other person was, very often feel like I am 16 and want to do teenage, dress teenage and act teenage. I don't know what I had planned for age 55. It is a new world for me and there have to be other people that feel this way, and I so want to meet people that understand and know that this is a real thing. I need to know that there is a next step.

Some how, someone in Belgium has contacted me. He and a few others get together and can relate. Just talking to other people, even if it is not an organized group, that are living with amnesia, are really helpful.  A friend or two are enough to help one feel like they are not so isolated from the world. Please let me know if you would like to share your experiences or know someone who does.
