Question Title: belly button pain

Forum: Neurology Forum
Topic: Pain

It was very weird. Yesterday I suddenly noticed something wrong with my belly button.
It is very very hard. When I touched it, it feeled painful, otherwise I feel nothing.

Could it be cancer? I was scared and angry.

Can you help me?

Dear XB:

Your acute belly-button tenderness is very unlikely to be cancer, and is almost certainly NOT a neurological problem. Most likely it is local infection or concretions. You may visit your primary MD, or an ER/urgent care center if symptoms are severe, persistent, or getting worse.

Good luck, and take care!
