Question Title: Migraine headaches and Inderal

Forum: Neurology Forum
Topic: Headache

I have been suffering from migraine headaches for a few months and my family doctor recently prescribed Inderal to help prevent my headaches from coming so often. My question is whether anyone has had any side effects from Inderal such as I am experiencing. I have had problems with severe fatigue to the point that I can do nothing but sleep or lay around. I have a full time job but was unable to go today because I could not wake up. I decided to call in and go back to sleep to see if I would feel better afterward. I slept from 7 am till 12 noon today with no such relief. I could not get in to see my doctor today, so I was curious to know if anyone else has experienced this side effect while taking Inderal.

Thanks in advance for any info

Fatigue is reported relatively frequently as a side effect of
Inderal / Propanolol, you seem to have a particularly severe case however
and seenm to be affected to the point that it is really not very
practical to continue taking the drug.
If you do need preventative treatment for your migraine then
I would suggest that you ask about an alternative medication. One drug
which is now being used in this context is Depakote, it does not cause
this eside effect of severe fatigue at the dose required to prevent migraine.
