Subject: Re: question about treatment drug...please Hi...I had 3 spine surgeries in the last 8 months...2 fusions and a revision....I have continued to have a burning ache in my back that seems to be getting worse...there is also swelling of the spina; muscles and tender to touch. I have just seen a pain management doctor...and he thinks I have RSD of my lumbar area. He put me on neurontin 300mg...increasing to 600mg next week. My question concerns injections he will do after the holidays.... he will inject the spinal muscles with "serapin" ?? I have been having a very hard time finding any info in this drug...and I was in so much pain he also talked about a tens unit...but it will wait until after the holidays too. I would really appreciate ANY information you can give me on this "Serapin" Dear Pam: Sorry to hear about all of your problems. Neurotin is a very good medication for neuropathic pain. I hope that it helps your RSD. However, I have never heard of "serapin" and doing a medline search and calling our pharmacy, they also have not heard of this medication. I am not sure what medication your doctor is talking about. If the medication is Serepix, this is an anti-anxiety medication. Best of luck. Sincerely, CCF Neuro MD |
