Question Title: Finger Shakes

Forum: Neurology Forum
Topic: Neurology - General

I noticed that when I hold my hand wide open or outstretched
my index finder shakes back and forth slightly. It happens
in both of my hands. Is this something
that I should be worried about? Is it commom?

Most people have some mild fine, rapid tremor of their fingers when the hands are outstretched. Ask someone to stretch out their hands then put a piece of paper on top of the hand and you'll see the tremor I'm talking about. Some people alos have a degree of mild tremor that runs in family. From what you descibe, it sounds like you have some physiologic tremor. If it occurs at other times (at rest or action), is severe, or assymetric, it would be helpful to ask your doctor.
