Question Title: neurogenic bladderForum: Neurology Forum
| ||||
Please I am looking for an international center to do rehabilitation work for a child with neurogenic bladder. I am not sure if these are the words in english. In spanish is "vejiga neurogenica". Please send me any information about this. Thanks in advance. Fernando Korstanje ferkor@unt.edu.ar Dear Fernando: Sorry to hear about the child. I am not quite sure why the question is under the title of attention deficit but the actual question is dealing with neurogenic bladder. If the child is neurologically intact and is having problems with voiding urine, then the problem might be physicial/anatomical. In this case, many academic centers in the united states could help you. There are many reasons why anatomically a child may not void correctly. We do these this type of work up here at the Cleveland Clinic (1-800-CCF-CARE). However, if the child has neurological problems, then the range of possible bladder control problems becomes larger. There can be physical/anatomical abnormalities as well as psychiatric problems that need to be addressed. We also study and treat these type of problems here at the Cleveland Clinic. However, most of the larger academic medical centers in the United States deal with the latter type of problem. Good luck, I hope that the problem is minor. Sincerely, CCF Neuro[P] MD
