Question Title: hand shaking....tremors?

Forum: Neurology Forum
Topic: Parkinson

Can a person with diabetes have severe shaking of one hand from diabetes
or does it indicate parkinsons? Is there a connection? Thank you

Tremor of the hand is not a specific complication of diabetes and needs to
be attributed to another cause.
This does not by any means automatically mean that it is due to Parkinsons.
There are many causes of tremor, for instance, benign essential tremor ,
thyroid disease, and medication side effects etc.
I would encourage you to have this checked, out, diabetes alone is not a
sufficient explanation , so the under lying cause needs to be found and
treatment initiated.
