If I wake on my side my arm and hip are paralized with pain.With a lot of effort and sometimes with the help of my husband I force myself out of bed. Dear Jeannie, In order to help you with this very distressing problem some more information is necessary regarding this pain :For instance its location, which side is it, which is worse the arm or leg, is the entire limb involved, if so which part is worse ? Does anything relieve or worsen the pain, does it radfiate to another location. Timing:How long do you have to be in bed before it starts, does it happen every night, how long does it last ? What is the quality of the pain burnind/ dull/ throbbing/ sharp. Have you had and significant medical problems in the past ? What surgeries have been done, what are the results of scans etc This information conprises only PART of a pain histroy , this needs to be
