I've heard a lot of good things about it. What it does is it make you somewhat nautious (sp?) when you have a cigarette. I visited their website, "www.zyban.com" and apparantely, if you have seizure, do not take it because it supposedly lowers the seizure threshold. Has anyone heard of this or similar drugs? = Zyban ( bupropion ) is an antidepressant drug which has been shown to have a role in helping with smoking cessation, most of the experience with this drug is in the treatment of depression, however trials have shown a definite dose related effect on the ability to give up cigarettes. The effect seems to be at the level of reducing craving rather than inducing nausea and the drug is also used in other addiction situations. As with many drugs in this class it lowers the seizure threshold and should be used cautiously in people who have a history of epilepsy, this has occured at high theraputic doses and in overdose. It should ideally be prescribed by a psychiatrist or someone familiar with it use. Good luck, I hope you succeed in giving up, the health benefits are enormous.
