In the past 4 years I have had 2 balloon rhizotomies for TN. While they have been successfull to a point, the pain has now returned and I am wondering if I would be a candidate to have Gamma Knife surgery, as I do not want to attempt another balloon rhizotomy. I am 79 years old and in excellent health. I currently have resumed taking Tegretol and dislike the side effect of this drug, but it does not really control the pain. I would appreciate your comments.
