Forum: Neurology Forum
Topic: Neuralgia

To whom it may concern,

I would very much appreciate your help concerning a very dear friend of
mine. We are searching for a doctor who will have the ability and
wisdom to treat his physical illness. He has a particular situation and
we are searching desperately for some help. Will you refer us to a name
or group we can contact in order to recieve help? Here is the families
short letter of past history and intent.
Thanks,

Monty Allen

Letter is as follows:

Nolan Beatty
DOB 1-14-44
Height 6'0 Weight 220
Married, father of eight children and grandfather of three.

Nolan’s tremors began seven years ago in his right hand, at the time he
was taking lithium and it
was put off as a common side effect to the drug. Nolan quit taking the
drug some 10 months later
and the tremor continued in his hand. It gradually progressed through
his right side only and
stayed for approximately two years. It slowly has progressed to his left
side and now is affecting
his entire body. It has almost completely taken away his ability to
write and speaking is becoming
more difficult because of the stuttering. Typically by the end of the
day his speech is too slurred
to understand because of exhaustion. While maintaining his strength in
his muscles and ruling out
M..D. at Emory University. We have also ruled out Coopers disease. The
family has pitched in
and raised money for several other tests including a C.T. scan, MRI full
blood work up, all of the
tests showing normal range results. He has seen three separate
neurologists, including a
movement disorder specialist. None have helped and all have tried
various drugs, none of which
have even helped, some actually making him worse. With limited
resources we have been unable
to continue his medical treatment while his symptoms continue to worsen
at a more rapid pace.
He has some loss of feeling in his face, causing drooling and his face
to droop slightly. The latest
attempt to treat Parkinson’s disease with dopamine had horrible side
effects without affecting the
shaking. Left undiagnosed and no hope we ask you to consider our case
and look at his medical
records. All we ask is that you would please consider Nolan as a patient
for your Clinic. Thank-
you for your time.

The Beatty Family

Sorry but we do not reply to personal email addresses. We have an excellent movement disorders clinic at CCF and would see Nolan in consultation if he so desires. It is not our policy to review potential patient medical records prior to seeing patients due to time constraints. If you wish to make an appointment please call 1 800 CCF CARE. Good luck
