Question Title: What's wrong with me?

Forum: Neurology Forum
Topic: Neuralgia

I hope you can help me with something. For the past 3-4 months, I have been
experiencing a variety of symptoms which no one can figure out. My symptoms
include pins and needles feelings in my head, the right side of my face feels
different from the left, a sharp shooting pain up my face, eye sensitivity and
blurred vision, strange sensations around my eyes, pain along my jaw and chronic fatigue.
These are never all together, it'll move around. I've had a negative MRI, various
blood tests, have seen various specialists and have seen 2 neurologists and no
one knows whats wrong with me. Could stress cause all these things? I worked
2 and ahalf jobs all winter and ran myself down. I'm running out of ideas and
doctors. These symptoms are scary and won't go away.

One wonders about migraine or a variant. I think your best bet is to contact the headache center here (in the department of neurology at CCF - call 800 223-2273 and ask for neurology appointments).

What is needed is a careful detailed history - what sensation, when, how long, what triggers, etc. A thorough neurologic exam can make clear whether any damage to your nervous system has occurred. In the hands of an experienced headache specialist, migraine or variants could be ruled in or out. Obviously, if it's something else, then you would have a start toward a diagnosis. The fact that you have already seen two neurologists makes me suspect that you will be best served by seeing a specialty center. If you are too far from CCF, find the nearest academic neurology center.

I hope this helps. As you know, specific statements regarding your diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment options must come from your doctor after appropriate evaluation. CCF MD mdf.
