I submitted the question last week about the Sleep Study results that found a excessively fast EEG and the occasional alpha-delta pattern was seen. I don't know how to find out the information you asked in order for you to answer my question further. Can severe and prolonged stress cause this finding? Heart disease? Depression? Thank You. Personally, I can't comment much about the "fast" EEG without having seen the tracing myself. I would be surprised if heart disease or depression caused any EEG abnormalities - it's just not the right test to explore those possibilities. As far as restless legs syndrome (RLS) goes, I am not aware of studies of Neurontin treatment. Conventionally, levodopa is used for RLS. RLS is associated with PLMD (periodic limb movement disorder) which can be detected on a polysomnogram (sleep study). RLS itself is relatively easy to diagnose, requiring no formal tests, just a set of symptoms that matches the described syndrome. However, as far as sleep disorders goes, it is possible that Neurontin could be helpful. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem that any of the sleep disorders experts in the department was available to answer your question. I hope this helps.
