hi i'm all new to this my very heathly dad of 58 had a seizure on
may 24, 98 was taken to ER and had another seizure there. was hospitalized
for 5 days and during his stay he had loss of short term mem. (most has
come back) he had a ct then a colour ct both came back fine. then he had a eeg and it should something on the left hand side. after out of the hospital he had a mri which when it came back the dr.
said that they need to do a colour mri. does that mean something showed
up and they want to look into it more or just want to make sure that they
saw nothing? help i'm very scared. My dad is now on top of the list of
cancellation for the colour mri. which could take forever living in toronto canada where there are only 3 hospitals that have the machine for 2.5 million people
should we run to buffalo n.y to get one done? if so do you know of any
good places in buffalo to get in done? the only reason why he got the first one so fast
is cause he was an in the hospital if not he would of had to wait 6 months
thanks in advance for the answer. hope this question makes sence

Dear Heather:
I completely understand your concerns and frustration. I am not very clear what you mean by color MRI. I assume it is the MRI that is done after an injection of so called contrast agent. Based on your description of the findings so far, I would suggest that you follow your local doctors recommendations, because I think if they saw something very suspicious that requires immediate attention they would have ordered immediately.
If your dad continues to have seizures and no treatment is initiated and no cause was given to him, I would then suggest that you get a second opinion in Buffalo or in Cleveland if you wish. The phone number here at the Cleveland Clinic is 216 444 5559
Good luck
