Question Title: Help! EEG results are not understood!!!Forum: Neurology Forum
| |
My friend went to the dr. for the following....headaches, dizziness, clumsiness (more than usual) and sharp stabbing pain in head. The result of the EEG (given by nurse) who did not understand it...said (focal sharp point in left hemisphere) what does this mean? Is this serious? Thanks...all comments are appreciated! A focal sharp point refers to an abnormal discharge that has the epileptogenic potential, that is, the potential produce a seizure.I would recommend that your freind gets an evaluation by a neurologist as well as getting some type of imaging study (CT or MRI). If you are interested in getting an evaluation at CCF, call 1-800-CCF-CARE. Good Luck.
