Question Title: TS and MS link?Forum: Neurology Forum
| ||||
My children both have been diagnosed with Tourette Syndrom (as well as OCD, and the youngest with ADD as well). I am undxed. The genetic link is obvious in my Mother's side, as well as in other areas of the family. My Mother was dxed a short while ago with TM and has just been dxed with Multiple Sclerosis. We know there is a link between other disorders and such in TS families. What I am looking for now is any information suggesting, or pointing to, a possible link between TS and MS (or even TM). Including TSers with family members with MS. Thank you, = The connection between TS, OCD, and ADD has long been recognized. There is a known genetic component, though no specific gene has been identified, and "penetrance" of the genetic abnormality is not complete. I am unaware of any connection between tic disorders (such as TS) and MS. At a physiologic level, they are completely different diseases. Hope this helps. CCF MD mdf.
