Question Title: Meniere's Disease with severe headacheForum: Neurology Forum

My wife has symptoms of Meniere's Disease excluding tinnitus and hearing loss. She suffers from daily headache usually about a 4 on a scale from 1 to 10. We've read alot about Meniere's but have noticed that daily headache is not a symptom. She's scheduled for an MRI this week, tomorrow to be exact. My question is considering that she has daily headache and no hearing symptoms\ The headache and dizziness have been ongoing for about two to two and Thank you for any insight.
= Thanks for the question. Menier's attacks usually consist of a roaring sound in the ear (tinnitus), ear fullness, and hearing loss (often associated with vertigo). It can last hours to days. The diagnosis depends on documenting hear loss on audiograms. From what I am hearing from your story it does not sound like Meniere's disease. It is possible that she is currently suffering from an inner ear problem or even benign positional vertigo. Certainly with new onset headache a scan is reasonable. I would be carefull about using narcotics to treat headache. Caffiene intake should be decreased. It is hard to give you much more information without a more detailed history and physical exam. Good luck with the scan. This information is provided for general medical education purposes only. Please consult your physicain regarding diagnostic and treatment options.
